This Privacy Policy explains how [[Registered entity name, e.g. VedaCode Technologies Pvt. Ltd.]] ("VedaCode", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, shares and protects your personal data when you use VedaCode™, in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and other applicable Indian law. "You" or "Data Principal" means the individual whose personal data we process.

1. What we collect, and exactly why

Date of birthRequired to calculate your Life Path, Mulank/Bhagyank and to cast your Vedic astrological chart.
Time and place of birth (optional but recommended)Used to cast an accurate Vedic chart (ascendant, house placements). Without it, chart depth is limited and clearly marked as approximate.

Payment metadata (order amount, status, payment ID)Processing your purchase and issuing invoices; full card details are handled by our payment processor and never touch our servers.
Correction proof documents (if you request a name/DOB correction)Verifying a genuine data-entry error before we amend a locked report.

2. Lawful basis for processing

Under the DPDP Act, we process your personal data on the basis of your explicit, informed consent, which you provide before we calculate any report — see the consent step of the blueprint wizard. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 6), though this may mean we can no longer provide the parts of the service that depend on that data.

3. How long we keep your data

We retain your profile and report data for as long as your account is active, so that your paid blueprint, tool results and history remain available to you. If you request account deletion, we permanently erase your personal data (subject to Section 7) within 30 days, except where a shorter or longer period is required to comply with tax, payment or other legal obligations (for example, invoice records may be retained for the period required under Indian tax law).

4. Who we share data with

We share the minimum necessary data with the following categories of processors, each bound by contract to protect it:

  • Payment processor — to process your payment and issue refunds; receives your name, contact details and order amount.
  • AI processing providers — to generate the narrative content of your blueprint from your numerology/astrology inputs; receives the calculated inputs needed to write your report, not your raw contact details.
  • Cloud hosting and database infrastructure — to store your account, report and file data securely.
  • Email/SMS delivery providers — to send your blueprint, receipts, and account notifications.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

5. Cross-border processing

Some of our infrastructure and processing partners (including cloud hosting and AI processing) may be located outside India. Where personal data is transferred outside India, we take reasonable steps to ensure it continues to receive a comparable standard of protection, as permitted under the DPDP Act.

6. Your rights as a Data Principal

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed — use "Download my data" in Settings for a full export.
  • Correction and completion of your personal data. For your locked name and date of birth, use the "Request a correction" panel in Settings; for other profile fields, edit them directly.
  • Erasure of your personal data, once it is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected, using "Delete my account" in Settings.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, with the same ease with which it was given, without affecting the lawfulness of processing already carried out.
  • Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (Section 8) if you believe your rights have not been respected.
  • Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity, by writing to us.

We aim to respond to any rights request within 30 days.

7. What deletion means in practice

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, reports, coach conversations, tool results, match history, alerts and uploaded files. It cannot be undone and paid reports cannot be recovered afterwards. Order and invoice records may be retained separately for the period required under Indian tax and accounting law, in anonymised or minimal form where possible.

8. Grievance Officer

In accordance with the DPDP Act, 2023, we have appointed a Grievance Officer to address your concerns about how your personal data is processed:

[[Grievance Officer full name]]
Email: [[grievance-officer@vedacode.example]]
Address: [[Grievance Officer postal address, India]]

You may also contact the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied with our response, as provided under the DPDP Act.

9. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures — encryption in transit, row-level access controls so that you can only ever read your own data, and private file storage for correction proofs — to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration or loss.

10. Children

VedaCode is not directed at, and does not knowingly collect personal data from, individuals under 18 years of age.

11. Changes to this notice

We will update the "Last updated" date above whenever this notice changes, and where a change is material we will ask you to re-confirm your consent before continuing to use the service.
